Take an inspiring adventure safari and combine it with any of our game or beach safaris.
    BALLOON SAFARIS
Balloon safaris are operated from all the major lodges and camps in the Masai Mara, Taita hills lodge and Serengeti. It is an enthralling sight, as just before dawn, the balloons are inflated and prepared for flight. As the sun rises, the balloon slowly lifts above the trees to catch the gentle early morning air-current. Drifting silently a few hundred feet above the ground, reveals a new dimension to the landscape of the Mara. Marvel at herds of wildbeest peacefully grazing on the still-dump grass, while elephant and buffalo can be seen picking their way through the riverine forests. Look out for lion families perched haughtily on a knoll, surveying the domain. After about one hour flight, descend slowly to the open plain for an assisted landing. It is then time to relax as the sun warms the plain and the staff prepare a sumptuous al-fresco breakfast.
    DEEP SEA DIVING
The warm clear waters of Kenya Coast present the perfect setting for diving. Diving opportunities are available at all major islands, Shimoni being the prime site. It lies at the toe of the Pemba Channel and is part of a large bay area making up Shimoni Archipelago containing several islands, including Pengutti, Kisite, Nyuki and Kitamgumw. The former two feature the largest concentration of wild dolphins in the Channel and are the main night diving site. The latter two feature a large variety of fish, reef sharks and eel.
    LAKE VICTORIA FISHING
Lake Victoria, the 2nd largest fresh water lake in the world, is a fisherman's paradise. Nile perch abound and fish over 100 pounds are regularly caught from the main islands in the lake - Takawiri, Rusinga and Mfangano. Takawiri Island is one of the most beautiful Islands on Lake Victoria. White sandy beaches stretch into unspoiled natural landscape, a haven for hippo, otters and vast array of bird life. The luxury chalet-style accommodation offer comfort and privacy for our select clientele. Enjoy sumptuous meals served with breath-taking lake views. This trip operates from Maasai Mara. Depart by light aircraft from the Mara either at dawn or after breakfast. Return to your Mara camp or lodge in the evening. Visitors may stay overnight.
    WHITE WATER RAFTING
This can be in both Kenya and Uganda. Kenya rafting can be done in Tana river, about 520 km. from Nairobi. The adventure stars with 3 km. followed by 6 km. of calm scenic river before completing the days outing with 6 km. of fast and exciting class 4 and 5 white water. Other famous rafting sites are Mathioya North River, which is a narrow, low volume river, the water is not particularly "big". However it is fast flowing and many of the rapids and technically very difficult. Ewaso Nyiro is also very well known for rafting.

In Uganda rafting is at its best in the White Nile and Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy the thrill and exhilaration of white water rafting in the security of knowing you are in the safest hands of an internationally experienced guide as he instructs you on the various aspects of your adventure before you begin.

After a picnic lunch there is time to relax or take a game viewing walk later in the afternoon, At the end of the day there are welcome showers followed by dinner round the camp fire. Accommodation at base camp is under canvas, while on safari, beds are provided under the stars. No riding skills are required as the camels are usually led, although a certain amount of walking is necessary. Start from Nairobi or the camel safari may be included as part of a longer safari.

    LAKE TURKANA-THE JADE SEA

Oasis lodge, situated on the shores of the vast jade colored expanse of Lake Turkana is the base for an exciting safari to Kenya's remote Northern Frontier district. Opportunities for fishing, ornithology, photography, archaeology and hiking are among the many attractions of the area. The lake is home to large concentrations of crocodile and Hippo and is famous for its giant Nile perch. Air and boat excursions are available to the nearby archaeological excavation site of Koobi Fora, "the cradle of mankind" This safari is an ideal choice for those wishing to explore a little known and very different part of Kenya.

    OXWAGON SAFARIS

When the European settlers first arrived on the mainland of East Africa some 90 years ago they either traveled by the newly constructed railway, walked or went by Ox wagon. This was an infinitely slow method of getting around, but they did see the country in more detail. Now you can discover what it was like for those fearless settlers to travel over country that has not changed in a thousand years. See the birds and animals at a slow pace instead of rushing along a road and if you want to stretch your legs just step off the wagon and walk along side. Inside the wagon there are comfortable seats, cool refreshments and shade. At night stay in a luxury tented camp with hot showers and cordon bleu cuisine around a cosy campfire. We offer a 3 day oxwagon safari in the country around Lake Naivasha. The maximum number of participants is 12.

    THE LUNATIC EXPRESS

At the turn of the century a remarkable railway construction feat was completed and the "Lunatic line" linking Mombasa to Uganda opened up the Kenyan interior to the European farmers and settlers. During the five years it took to build the railway, the engineers encountered unimaginable hazards including hostile tribesmen, man-eating lions, inhospitable deserts and the great Rift Valley escarpment. Nowadays the train journey between Nairobi and Mombasa is a comfortable overnight sleeper with twin 1st class cabins, bedding and meals provided. The train departs from Nairobi to Mombasa and vice versa every evening at dusk, arriving soon after breakfast the following morning.

    WEDDINGS AND HONEYMOONS
Kenya is a prime destination for honeymooners. However, why not start the whole celebration here and have an exotic wedding in a Beach Hotel in one of our paradise islands, or in one of our lodges. We can make all the arrangements including photographer, wedding cake, bouquet or other celebrations.

    INCENTIVE TOURS
Kenya has a stunning diversity of landscapes, wildlife and natural phenomena within an easily accessible area. Its unique combination of an exciting wildlife safari and a relaxing beach holiday is ideally suited to the incentive travel concept.

The local tourist industry has been quick to understand and meet the needs of this market and many of the hotels and lodges are equipped with superb conference and meeting facilities, not only in the main cities but also in the game parks. There are also plenty of excursions, attractions and entertainment on offer to ensure an evenly balanced and exciting programme.

Planning programmes such as these requires specialist knowledge and experience and Lexinda staff pride themselves on their skill in creating the right programme for your client, and on the company's ability to operate it with competence and reliability.
