    ROAD SAFARIS FROM KAMPALA

    LT 109 - 3 NIGHTS GORILLA SAFARI - BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST (4 DAYS)

      Situated in a hilly countryside, Bwindi forest is the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. It was established in 1991 and covers an area of 331 square kilometres.

      Bwindi is a true African jungle with dense vegetation. In this forest chimpanzees in families 20 or 30, can be seen making rounds, searching for fruit and edible plants.

      This forest is a sanctuary for almost half the worlds population of mountain gorillas (about 330 to 600), which is the rarest race of gorilla. Gorilla tracking visits are limited to small groups in this forest, therefore reservations should be done 3-6 months early.

      Day 1 : We depart from the hotel in Kampala after breakfast via the Equator. Lunch at Lake View Hotel in Mbarara town. Dinner and overnight at Kabale town.

      Day 2 : After breakfast we leave Kabale for Bwindi Forest. We reach the park gate at 8.30 am as per the conditions for entry. We start tracking from the gate. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma homestead.

      Day 3 : After breakfast we depart with our park ranger who will accompany us all the in the forest for another exciting tracking followed by an interesting forest walk through vines down rivers. Comfortable night at Buhoma forest.

      Day 4: After breakfast we leave the park via Lake Bunyonyi for Kampala with lunch at Lake view Hotel - Mbarara. Our memorable trip ends in Kampala.

    LT 110 - 3 NIGHTS GORILLA SAFARI - MGAHINGA FOREST (4 DAYS)

      The park gazetted in 1991, covers an area of 33.7 square kilometres. It's found in the extreme south west corner of Uganda which borders the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.

      Mgahinga is the second home of the rare Mountain Gorilla (Gorilla Beringei) in Uganda. Other animals in the area include the Golden Monkey, Leopard, Giant Forest Hog, Bushbuck, Buffalo and birdlife.

      Day 1 : We depart from Kampala after breakfast via the equator. Lunch at Lake View Hotel, Mbarara. Dinner and overnight at Kabale or Kisoro, 510 kilometres from Kampala.

      Day 2 : After breakfast, we leave Kabale or Kisoro for Mgahinga Forest National Park. Before 8.30 am we enter the park gate and start tracking the gorillas. Dinner and overnight at the park.

      Day 3 : We take an early breakfast and start tracking the gorillas with the park ranger who will accompany us all the way through the forest. We will also be searching for the other animals e.g. monkeys, leopards, bushbucks, birds, etc. Dinner and overnight in the park.

      Day 4 : We will take a leisurely breakfast, chatting and exchanging the exciting memories then leave for Kampala via Lake View Hotel for lunch - Mbarara. The trip ends in Kampala.

      NB: This trip can also be done under three days.
